[17:01:50] <vohi[M]> jaheikki3: pong
[17:02:41] <jaheikki3> time to start qt release team meeting
[17:02:46] <jaheikki3> On agenda today:
[17:02:49] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.12 status
[17:02:58] <jaheikki3> Any additional item to the agenda?
[17:03:58] <jaheikki3> Let's browse through 6.12 status
[17:04:16] <jaheikki3> Branching from 'dev' to '6.12' is done
[17:04:26] <jaheikki3> Qt 6.12 Feature Freeze is in effect
[17:04:41] <jaheikki3> 2 Feature freeze exception requests sent so far
[17:04:49] <jaheikki3> non-separable blending modes
(https://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2026-June/047205.html)
[17:04:56] <jaheikki3> QML Preview Hot Reload
(https://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/development/2026-June/047210.html)
[17:05:56] <jaheikki3> for me it sounds the first one can wait 6.13 but we
should give an exception for QML one; it seems it just missed the integration
window
[17:06:00] <jaheikki3> Any opinions?
[17:06:44] <thiago> I don't understand either to be able to give an opinion
[17:06:56] <vohi[M]> Main challenge with the non-separable blending modes is
finding a reviewer. Adding more capabilities to QPainter is not high on
anyone's list. OTOH, it's also a low risk addition, evidently wanted by the
QGIS project, so would be good to have in the LTS branch.
[17:07:15] <vohi[M]> I'd give it a few days to see if anyone can review and
evaluate how far away from mergable that is.
[17:07:36] <vohi[M]> the QML preview is thumbs up for me, given that the heavy
lifting is done and the remaining patches only touch the tooling around it.
[17:07:44] <vohi[M]> sorry, QML hot reload
[17:08:35] <jaheikki3> Ok, let's give an exception for QML hot reload and check
non-separable blending modes one in next weeks meeting again
[17:09:19] <jaheikki3> The plan is to create Qt 6.12 Beta1 packages from the
first successful dependency update round in '6.12'.
[17:09:31] <jaheikki3> The round is already ongoing
[17:09:43] <jaheikki3> The target is to release Qt 6.12 beta1 by the end of
next week
[17:10:00] <jaheikki3> That's all this time, any comment or questions?
[17:10:44] <thiago> I think our answer is, "someone needs to reply to peppe to
volunteer to at a minimum review it'
[17:11:39] <vohi[M]> yep, pinging a few peeps internally, but let's see next
week if anyone managed to make time for it
[17:12:27] <jaheikki3> Ok, let's end this meeting now & have new one Tue 9th
June at this same time
[17:12:37] <jaheikki3> thanks for your participation,bye!
[17:12:40] <vohi[M]> okidoke, bye
