So, asking again to the Mac team: how long will you take patches to make things compile with Clang-Xcode 17 and the MacOSX26 SDK? For as long as supporting Clang 17 and/or the macOS 26 SDK as an upper bound does not negatively impact what we can do with a more modern toolchain. The larger that gap becomes, and the more intrusive the patch is, the higher the chance we won’t accept the patch. And again, supporting people who for some reason are unable to work on supported hardware (in this case the few remaining Intel Macs, or any Apple Silicon Mac), is orthogonal to dropping x86_64, as there are plenty of Apple Silicon Macs available, and I’m sure we can find one for the Qt Core maintainer :-) Cheers, Tor Arne
