Is this something that OpenMoko envisions being able to distribute to
end users themselves, or to maintenance locations?
In the meantime, can I just ship my phone back to you guys to update my
firmware? ;o)

we do have a 3G/USIM firmware update, and we have the distribution
license to distribute that update. However, we do not yet have a
license to distribute the firmware update program itself. But we're
visibly making progress on this, so please have some more patience.
