-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Werner,
I'm not sure I understand your question, but yes, as you know, I'm willing to contribute anything I can. Currently the API 'only' responds to a resolve request : you send a correctly formatted request (GET) with a user-agent string (in the header) to resolve and the server responds with the full set of Property/Value keys, currently in JSON -- a more complex version using 'complex' objects (an extension of W3C's PropertyValue object) and proto-buf also exists. Also, when you say "partial C# version" which elements do you think are missing in the C# 'port' ? I have a fully function .Net version albeit somewhat different in that it does not 'natively' use XML but can 'connect' to various data sources, so maybe the missing parts can be taken from there. As you know I've been at this 'device/useragent-thing' for some time and I think I have a lot if not most of the functionality desired for DeviceMap and it's many possible implementations, at some stage of completion hanging around here in some .Net project. On a different note : I'm still looking for a quotable source, but I 'heard' that one of the techniques used to identify fake facebook and other social media accounts is, among others, to look at the devices and user-agents used in the requests, a technique that, seeing the API logs etc here, makes perfect sense to me. It is the areas I think DeviceMap should also high-light : it is not 'just' device-detection to do some content formatting and routing, device-detection/useragent 'management' is a vital metric in various aspects of a site or service's performance.
