The UA site shows, it can be done, they may use any language or simpla UA
dissection rather than a large repo, but it works better than what we see
on Windows today, You first and foremost should appreciate, unless you
develop the .NET libraries on a Mac or Linux?
Did any of them (I have not tried the .NET equivalent myself) do a proper
recognition of your Windows desktop?
Mac (thanks to other aspects especially the Apple vendor one) works better.
And so far this has not improved[?]

You may find more desktops with e.g. 1600x900 than 1024x768 now, but simply
saying every desktop has that resolution is wrong and won't help proper
layout even of the most simple demand like the  right size for a HTML 5
canvas.

Especially the OperatingSystemDataSource is not even maintained other than
for Apple.
