Hi,

> I thought a "DB" was already up, is it?

Yes it is [work in progress]. As a contributor to this project I
consider that part of the contribution, irrespective of my current or
future relations with the community, it's members, it's views, etc;
but I trust you understand : putting aside my 'contributor' hat and
putting on the "IPMC" hat...
[memo to self : buy a hat-rack]

So, yes, 'that' Db is there and yes, its all 'DeviceMap' and lots of
other goodies [ALL within copyright restrictions and law] and yes, no
matter what, it will stay open, free, all standard-complaint, etc...

Recent experience [guid, GUID, UUID] teaches not to propose, but to
ask what others would propose...

IF you are now thinking of some modality whereby Apache could take
control and ensure continuity of that Db, you can be assured of my
fullest cooperation.

Any service you think appropriate to offer CAN be offered.
Flat file, fat file, you name it...as long as I can keep them boxes
here running and it's fun, count on it !

Food for thought not doubt, but still :
How do we propose to keep and maintain the device data, manage it and
manage 'publications'.

"Aye, there's the rub..." :-)

Considering goings-on on the incubator list, I'd like the Mentors to
weigh in on this.
