I must state that I am very sorry to see this thing come to this....
I for one have only been around Linux and E-Smith for a few months and in
that
short time, I must say I have learned more from Darrell about the e-smith
server
than from anyone else. Darrell has always been willing to help, test and try
to solve
problems. A look at the number of HowTo's in the contributor list will
support his willingness
to give to the user community. Of course now that he has departed, so have
his HowTo's. It is truly ashame that the new user will never benefit from
all his work.
Being a newbie I was even inspired by all Darrell's work that I too offered
to the contributor list what little knowledge I had gained from my own
experiences in setting up e-smith using a promise controller.
We all have bad days and sometime we hit the "Send" key when sometime maybe
we should go get a cold one and read it again before we send. Hours on hours
of pulling your hair out to solve a problem will certainly change your way
of thinking. (So will Ex-Wives:>) I would like to encourage both E-smith and
Darrell try to get together and work this thing out. As far as I can see
this is a loss for both sides. I have followed this entire thread, like I am
sure hundreds more have and will sit back and say nothing but lets move on.
Sure lets move on guys, but lets move in the right direction. Together!
Darrell my hats off to you for all your fine work on Twiggi, TEP for me and
the dozens of other
projects you have so graciously offered to the Open Source community. I
sincerely hope you can get this past you and find a way to rejoin us. For
E-Smith I too want to thank you guys for the Easiest to Setup, Best Darn
Server package to date... I only hope that you guys will try to work this
out with Darrell and we ALL move own.
Just my opinion, but like Dennis Says " I might be wrong"
