G'Day All,
I am in the process of testing a procedure for both old and new Compaq smart
2 controllers and we also have a 3ware 6200 in as well.
The 3ware is already in use with RH, however I think the knowledge gained
will switch over to e-smith. Damm manuals always lie!
For the developers. As e-smith is shipped without all the 'junk' not
needed. Could we get the .config file for the compile you guys did of the
kernel?
That way, I could download the same source tree, your e-smith made .config
file and then just add in the extra options one needs for Compaq or 3ware.
And then recompile and ship the new kernel/driver and ram disk to an e-smith
machine to support the new hardware?
Also how would one go about adding these files in at install? It is one
thing to do so after install, say 1 embedded drive plus a separate RAID
array. However if one wants to install and boot off a RAID array we will
need the new kernel and ram disk earlier.
Cheers,
Richard.
