I didn't try 4.1b1, but 4.1b2 workes pretty damn fine on my old test
box. DHCP definately works. I know there were RAID problems with 4.1
kernels, but that shouldn't affect DHCP - these are quite different
problems. I am not so fortunate as to have the same hardware, but a my
machine has dual 8139s, and they work OK.
You did set up DHCP on the server right? It is turned off by default...
