I'm having trouble getting a new kernel on e-smith to get support for reiserfs
(I know, shouldn't be doing it, but if anyone has a module for a stock 2.2.16-22
I would like it). Every kernel I get on there, the pppoe will not start and
complains about ipparam not being found. From a search on google, this is an
option for pppd, which the pppoe uses after it initiates the connection. Also
the ppp-2.4.0 rpm requires the rpm kernel-2.2.16-22. PPP has been in all the
kernels from 2.4.0 to 2.2.16-22 compiled from the src rpm from redhat, but none
worked. If anyone has any tips or tricks they would be greatly appreciated. I
would be happy getting a 2.4.1 kernel on there with stateful firewalling
(reiserfs now included), but just reiserfs on the standard kernel would be
great. BTW this is for a 27G drive of files, and I would put it in another
machine, copy the files, reformat with ext2, and copy back--but I don't have 27
gigs anywhere to do it. Thanks for any help.
