RAID 1 Status

Is there way to check the status of the raid partition?

How do we know it is really working? Other than physical disconnecting one
drive?

If one drive crashes , how do you reinitialise the mirror once you have
installed the new drive?

Will there be inclusion of RAID 0 or 5 ???
