Thanks for your detailed report, Sasha. I've located the problem in
util.pm, and uploaded a new e-smith-base-4.0.12-35.noarch.rpm to my
contrib directory on ftp.e-smith.org. I'd be grateful if people would try
it out - at this stage, please, not on critical servers.
