Hello y'all,
Early morning, but it is a darn good morning too.
I did test a couple of things this morning to see how stable the upgrade
goes.
To have this done I did a full backup before I started.
Checked the tape for success and looked good.
Pop out the tape and keep it handy.
Performed an upgrade from 4.1b4 to 4.1rc2 with only one message in the boot
(dmesg output):
change_root: old root has d_count=4
Trying to unmount old root ... <3>error -16
Change root to /initrd: error -2
After making sure everything is running as it should I move the CD to
another "test" server.
Installed fresh and did a restore through the web console. At first I
thought nothing was happening, but it is a slower system. It did restore
the files it needed and was up and running, I have not connected this one to
the network yet, but will do this later.
Any way, so far so good, I am going to grab a java at my favorite hangout
and will continue testing today.
Greetings,
Aldert E. van der Laan
