I have three sites that exhibit the same weirdness : (All version 4 final or last beta updates) Periodically the collection of mail from the ISP ETRN mail queue stops. The servers are all dial-up modem/ISDN All other services seem to work well. The modem does dial as per schedule or on demand, sending of mail works fine and so does browsing. Sending to a test responder, while on line, bounces the message immediately - but ETRN queued mail is not collected. I have spoken to the ISP and they claim that no ETRN commands are being sent while the server is connected. The server seems to be getting the correct fixed IP addr each time it connects. To resolve the problem, I reboot the server, and on first connection it brings in all the mail in the queue! This works for an indeterminate period - several days at least and then needs a re-boot ! Is there any specific procedure that I can use to debug the process and try to determine what causes the server to stop collecting mail ? Can anyone describe the exact process that occurs when the server does the ETRN collection, i.e. processes, daemons etc. Sasha Malic [EMAIL PROTECTED]
