My main question actually deals with version 4.01, but I need to know
if the same issue still exists in 4.1.

So here goes....

As most of the e-smith dev team knows, I am using an e-smith box to
relay messages from one server to another internally.

The issue (not a problem, because I suspect qmail is doing what comes
naturally) is early yesterday evening we lost our primary net
connection (as we found out 10 minutes ago AT&T was disconnect an
unused link in a remote location but disconnected the wrong link and
shut out head office down ... but that's another story) All mail did
what it was supposed to do and got re-routed to our secondary link
and to my backup e-smith box running 4.01, which then forwards the
messages to the intended sendmail box via our internal network.
However, we've had several customer complain that there messages are
being duplicated and delivered twice.

We found out that the To: field had 2 reciepeints listed. qmail
appears to be tacking this message and forwarding it twice (once for
each recipient) even if they are on the same domain. (ie
[EMAIL PROTECTED] & [EMAIL PROTECTED])

The sendmail box then processes each message separately and because
the To: field remains intact with both reciepents, delivers the
message twice.

<BREATH>

Like I said, I assume qmail is just doing what comes naturally, but
does obtuse-smtpd do the same?
And can I change the way qmail handles the messages to be forwarded
so it does not do this?

Thanks
Dean
