Yes Edward.  You should not have had to make these changes as
4.1 employs ide-scsi emulation for ide tape drives.  Your drive
should have responded to /dev/st0.  The only way /dev/nht0 could
work is if the ide-tape module was loaded in place of ide-scsi.

Did you make this change manually and if so what was your reason?
Were you having problems using the ide-scsi module?

This really is the wrong track to take as there would be many
more files to edit to utilize /dev/nht0.  For instance you
will immediately find that the tape restore feature will
not work for you as it is set for /dev/st0 as well.
