yes.. using --format=crc worked well. However, it wasnŽ t successful at
all ;) I tried to get it running w/o building a new kernel first. But it
seems i need to build a new kernel to get my Mylex AcceleRaid 170 running.

i tried to get a RH7.0 running, with same results, so i assume it is the
drivers version (DAC960.o). A new SuSE 7.1 (Kernel 2.2.18) runs well on the
same machine. This machine is my my first "public" one i have to
build for a customer. So iŽ ll take some more hours to get it running.
E-Smith runs on our internet well since months, so i want to take it as our
main distribution. I things went well..

I tried to install the DAC960 patch (from www.dandelion.com) on our E-Smith
4.1.1 intranet server, but only got bunches of errors of wrong settings.
Maybe teh patch wont work as it should do. Now iŽ ll setup a SuSE box to make
a new 2.2.18 kernel and modules. Just to see if i get it running this way.

Hehe.. after three days making a new initrd.img is easy as makin coffee..

I appreciate any new ideas that are weaving around... How to get y DAC960
(Mylex AcceleRaid 170) running if its the only controller. Booting from disk
or a IDE cdrom.. hmm, i am thinking..

regards

Anton
