I scoured their site.

I could not find any info or FAQ...  :-\

Another email I got also suggested the cname idea.

So I will have www.company.com.au as the primary and www.company2.com.au as
a canonical name of the main site.

Well this is an Australian piece of the puzzle that will fit in very nicely.
