While stepping over all of the worms (83 hits in 4 hours - 1.5/256 ADSL),
it dawned on me that there was something else that I'd been meaning to
ask...

For some reason, I cannot get traceroute to do anything for me while using
my E-smith box (4.1.1) over a PPPoE BellSouth.Net ADSL connection.

This is the third E-Smith box I've setup on ADSL with PPPoE and traceroute
won't work on any of them.

Everything else on the box works great. DNS, mail, DYNDNS, Apache,
etc...but traceroute will not work. I can traceroute from machines on the
internal network out to the Internet without a problem, but when I attempt a
traceroute from the E-smith machine this is the result:

[root@border /root]# traceroute e-smith.org
traceroute to e-smith.org (64.26.145.90), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
 1 * * *
 2 * * *
 3 * * *
 4 * * *
 5 * * *
 6 * * *
 7 * * *
 8 *

This will continue until it runs out of hops (or until I stop it,
obviously). Telling traceroute to not resolve DNS names and to just show
IPs doesn't fix the problem, so I'm not inclined to blame it on DNS.

Anyone has any suggestions? I'm sure this is something simple, but I can't
think of what is causing it.

Thanks,
 Matt
