Hi everyone.

I just had e very strange problem. My internal network interface with static
IP 192.168.0.1 got another ip-number eg. 196.168.0.56 (the default
esmith-number??)

After restarting the network interfaces with command
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart everything was fine again.

Looking in the log I saw eth1 was requesting an ip-number on it's own
DHCP-server. To avoid this from happening again I have staticly assigned a
lease for this interface card.

Does anyone know what could have triggered this "failure"? The only
"strange" I had was that my internet connection was dropped due to
malfunction of my ISP

greetings,

Raymond
