No, it was reported to cause file corruption problems even on some new
hardware. Consistent with our "simple and reliable above all else"
philosophy, we have disabled it by default and (for simplicity) removed it
from the user interface.
In our experience, server performance is only rarely limited by disk
performance.
The performance tweaking option is still there for those who know and
care.
