We have made some updates to obtuse-smtpd, and I would like further testers before we release this update. **Please only test on a non-production server, just in case** The update is on the FTP site: /pub/e-smith/contrib/GordonRowell/RPMS/i386/obtuse-smtpd-2.0-29.i386.rpm /etc/init.d/smtpfwdd stop rpm -Uvh obtuse-smtpd-2.0-29.i386.rpm /etc/init.d/smtpfwdd start Send various mails and report (to [EMAIL PROTECTED] please) any problems. smtpfwdd logs to /var/log/maillog I would also like extra testing of failure modes, so chmod u-w /var/qmail/queue/mess/* Send some more mail, and you should see lines like the following in /var/log/maillog: Sep 25 19:51:19 test3 smtpfwdd[2779]: Temporary sendmail failure (status 19200), will retry later Spool files should be sitting in /var/spool/smtpd/spool with "other execute" bit set: [root@test3 spool]# ls -l total 4 -rwxr-xr-x 1 mail mail 156 Sep 25 19:41 smtpdBp8Uxv Now, chmod u+w /var/qmail/queue/mess/* and the mail should be delivered about _ten_ minutes later. Other pathological tests would also be nice (filling disk, renaming /var/qmail/queue, etc.) If you can test, please do so and report success/failure to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks, Gordon -- Gordon Rowell [EMAIL PROTECTED] VP Engineering Network Server Solutions Group http://www.e-smith.com Mitel Networks Corporation http://www.mitel.com -- Please report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] (only) to discuss security issues Support for registered customers and partners to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives by mail and http://www.mail-archive.com/devinfo%40lists.e-smith.org
