As a result of up-and-down power and Internet service connections I've had the situation twice in the last couple of weeks where my SME5 server was up and running with Internet access, but with the wrong IP address registered at dyndns.org. I get the impression that this may happen when my ISP goes down and then comes back up again, but I'm surprised that the server doesn't recover from that automatically.
In order to recover I've had to reboot or correct the IP address at dyndns.org manually, and it occured to me that this might be a useful Web Administration feature, since there is no reference at all to Dynamic DNS in the control panel. Would it make sense to add something to the control panel, and is there a volunteer to do it? The panel could show the current status of the service and have an "Update" button. I'm assuming it's pretty simple to do, but I'm sorry I don't have the necessary expertise, and don't know how the dynamic DNS client is implemented on the server. Regards, Mark.
