Thanks Karl. This Samba topic has been very busy and rightly so. In fact, until Samba gets updated and templates patched, it just does not work right. I've just completed an rpm for making this easier for all in the future. Dan Brown has done an excellent job on the e-smith contrib Samba HowTo already. I've updated his Howto, included my rpm and I've just sent it off to Dan to review and comment. Once I hear from Dan, assuming everything is ok, I'll post as a [draft] for devinfo to give a try.
