It's worse than that. Once NT has worked out that you can support
roaming profiles you need to reboot to change the path it tries to use.
Logging out is not sufficient...

e-smith-samba-1.1.0-31 is now in my contrib area.

Default is local profiles. If you want roaming profiles, do
the following (please test this both cases - 'yes' and 'no').

    /sbin/e-smith/db configuration smb setprop RoamingProfiles yes
    /sbin/e-smith/events/actions/conf-samba

In any case, do a "signal-event post-upgrade" after installing this RPM.

Here are the changelog entries:

* Fri Nov 30 2001 Gordon Rowell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
- [1.1.0-31]
- Extra slosh required in 11logonPath

* Fri Nov 30 2001 Gordon Rowell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
- [1.1.0-30]
- Changed group of profiles parent directory to shared to make it searchable
- Replaced %N (NIS server) with %L (Netbios name) in 11logon{Home,Path}
- Reinstated [profiles] share and change logon path to use it
- Added action to user-{create,delete} to add/remove the profile subdirectory
- Added action to post-upgrade to create profiles for existing users
- New smb property RoamingProfiles - defaulting to "no" in conf-samba,
  which disables logon {home,path} and [profiles] share
