Just wanted to let you know.....
Installed samba-2.2.6 and e-smith-samba-1.1.0-32
(on essg 4.1.2 that is)
- joining (a new XP machine) to the domain worked fine (using admin, not root).
- logging on as a user from the XP-client at first didn't work,
although a (localnet) PPTP VPN worked to the essg worked fine....
- searched google, found and incorporated a small registry-change
(have a look at it: http://www.mandrakeuser.org/docs/connect/csamba6.html )
- after this, no problemo ! all seems to work fine now
(oh, just one small thing - Daniel van Raay's loginscript-contrib
didn't work anymore, as it calls a scripts in the users home-directory,
which is now (default settings from your rpm) not mapped;
not too much a problem - will try to re-enable that mapping later
- it's long way bedtime..)
