Hi stephen

The most important change in SME is that the template-begin for squid is now 
fragmented.....

What you might need todo is copy the:
40http_access75AllowLocal 
40http_access99denyall  

to your custom template directory and hash out the content, then reinitialize the 
template.

I found an excellent add-on here:
http://www.chez.com/vinc28/fetchmail.html
You need to apply that work-around though for SME.
