I was also concerned after reading this article.  I've been
running 2.4.x since February of last year and currently on 2
servers and 2 desktops at 2.4.10 and I've never seen any kinds
of problems as outlined in the article.

But, of course, I am not stressing the memory on any of my
machines.  I keep the CPUs busy with compiles and seti, but
rarely use more than half my swap.

Hopefully, things have settled down a little now, because the
USB support in 2.4 is so wonderful.

Just my 2 centavos.
