Pierre, This is possible and there may be an easier way to do it than I have. I had to create some template-custom entries to change the imp defaults.
You need to change the default server or servers in servers.php3 to make the exchange server the default server for imp webmail. Then, in the e-smith-manager, change the SMTP server to your exchange server. What effectively should happen is that you should be able to receive mail at the exchange server, and use IMAP to get it delivered. When you send mail, mail will be relayed from the e-smith server to the exchange server, then out to the net. I can/will send you the specifics of what I have done off-list as soon as I clean up the cluttered mess in my computer room. There may be some other minor issues that I have forgot about. I have done this on 4.1.2 and 5.0 using Exchange 5.5 sp4, GroupWise 5.5 enhancement pack, and GroupWise 6.0. I plan on making sure things work with 5.1.2 as well. JB >>> "Pierre" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 02/23/02 10:58AM >>> Hi, I'm using a bunch of e-smith 5.1 boxes in a local network. They are configured to act as servers only (they are file servers for windows and mac machines). All users accounts on the e-smith boxes are the same as their NT domain accounts. I would like the users be able to access their mailbox from Imp. Our mail server is Microsoft Exchange 5.5. Only Imap is configured (and allowed) To be reductive, this server is connected to another one (not in our local network but in our intranet network) wich act as a gateway between the rest of the world and us. Is there a way to send / receive mail from our Exchange server with imp? Thanks in advance for any clue / help / link.
