I have a site with e-smith 4.1.2 installed with an ADSL link to the internet and an ISDN card for dial in use.
I found that the /etc/ppp/ipup script was calling a file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifup-post which was changing the External Interface Setting of the e-smith config to the IP address of any ppp interface that comes up. Of course that's great when you're dialing out, but it isn't what you want when you dial in to the e-smith. The authentication is already setup for dialin in the file /etc/ppp/pap-secrets and chap-secrets, so not much work to do really to get it to work. I haven't tried setting up a dial in with a normal modem, just with ISDN. Of course getting ISDN to work is a lot easier with the newer 5.1.2 release, as it now supports ISDN directly. 4.1.2 required some software to be installed. I hope this information helps. regards, dave. -- Please report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] (only) to discuss security issues Support for registered customers and partners to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives by mail and http://www.mail-archive.com/devinfo%40lists.e-smith.org
