Hi all, I'm wondering if it is possible to mirror all the _GREAT_ contributions and How-To's developed by many people!
I've noticed that if the main source is unavailable, many people are getting confused or even panic.... We all now that Mitel hosts those contributed How-To's and additional RPM's, and we are thankfull for that. But in the forums is talk abaout way more goin' on. Self developed RPM's, suggestions, links etc. To preserve the availability of all this tuff, i was thinking about a way of making these contributions more 'permanent' available to the community... So i was wondering if there is way to agree to create a sort of 'webring'. I mean if for example Netsourced goes down, how many of us can get the stuff they need/want? (and that's a _BIG_ compliment Darrell) What are the options? I don't know exactly, just brainstorming here: 1. Every How-To contains a mirror list 2. Every Contrbuted RPM/File has a readme.txt in /usr/local/mitel/here_are_all_the_readmes 3. Every contribution is hosted at a rsync available place 4. Create a webring kind a thing.. Anyway, the internet was build for matters of redundancy, why not make our efforts redundant. What do you think? Anybody cares in taking the lead in this 'matter' Regards, Hsing-Foo (thinking out loud) -- Please report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] (only) to discuss security issues Support for registered customers and partners to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives by mail and http://www.mail-archive.com/devinfo%40lists.e-smith.org
