I have been testing squirrelmail on SME using the howto in the contrib area. I would like to discuss whether it is feasible to replace IMP with squirrelmail, not only is squirrel mail a much cleaner more advanced system but it also much lighter on resources as it doesn't require MySQL
The other bonus is the plugins - like vacation message, disk quota checking etc..
