I just received the following report from a client I'd been assisting. FYI they had a power outage. Afterward their server failed to recover and would not boot. Backups were weeks old. A major disaster loomed! I'd suggested they give R-Linux a try. Here is their reply, received only moments ago...
------------------------------------- Darrell, FYI... Using the RLinux tools I was able to recover the most important data files from one of the drives (my personal accounting and client data). I am still working on retrieving the remaining data (55GB). I have most of this data backed up to another HD so I'm not as concerned about immediate recovery. The RLinux tool is quite impressive, I'm only sorry that I had to learn about it under duress. I would like to thank you again for your assistance. ------------------------------------- R-Linux is a free file recovery utility for the Ext2FS file system. I suggest everyone give it a try and keep a copy handy. http://www.r-tt.com/RLinux.shtml Regards, -- Darrell May DMC Netsourced.com http://netsourced.com http://myEZserver.com -- Please report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] (only) to discuss security issues Support for registered customers and partners to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives by mail and http://www.mail-archive.com/devinfo%40lists.e-smith.org
