I have made rpms of the latest WU imap daemon, with maildir patches,
suitable for installation on SME 5.5.

This version of the WU imap daemon supports a couple of requested
features:

- the STARTTLS command (which allows SSL connection over the standard
  port)
- sorting by thread.

A simple custom template for /etc/xinetd.conf would also allow connection
over imaps.

The maildir patch which has been applied uses a new scheme for message UID
encoding (in the filename of the message files). I expect this will
overcome problems which have been reported from Outlook users. The RFC822
message size is also encoded in the message file name - this saves lots of
recalculation by the daemon, so performance is noticably more snappy.

This is beta software, and shouldn't be used on production servers.

You will find imap-2001a-1.72.0mdir5.i386.rpm in my contrib ftp are:

ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/CharlieBrady/RPMS/i386/

The source RPM is in
ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/contrib/CharlieBrady/SRPMS/.

Feedback to me please.
