Your recollections are inaccurate. The samba development discussion was
done independently of any release. It was then incorporated into a
subsequent beta release.

We have three main issues.

1. time. Do you want me to spend my time participating in debates on this
list, or do you want me to fix bugs and implement features. More
importantly, what do the people who pay me want.

2. duplicate tickets. Discussion cc'd between bugs and devinfo raises a
new ticket for each followup. See point 1 - each new ticket needs to be
closed.

3. Confusion of issues. As Gordon has pointed out, reporting of an IMP
issue on this list provoked followup on totally unrelated IMP issues.
Previous discussions of beta release bugs on this list has provoked much
discussion about desired features. Such discussion is futile - it is
almost certainly too late to affect which features are included in a
release.

And as I have said multiple times in the past, if you want to see features
in the server software that Mitel releases - show us the money, or show us
the code. Mitel has marketing people who decide what features are required
to make sales. You may have a differing opinion, but your opinion is just
that, your opinion. Please don't waste my time, and the time of everyone
else on this list, trying to debate the issue.

I am not here to defend, criticise or debate Mitel's business plans. I'm
here to help you develop stuff of your own. Please keep all postings on
topic.
