Hi,

I would like to build a custom version of e-smith/mitel.
I have found this HOWTO:

http://www.e-smith.org/docs/howto/contrib/e-smith-custom-iso.html

To make my own version, I have just add one package, zile.
It's a tiny emacs-like (zile-1.6.1-1.i386.rpm).
I followed the HOWTO's instructions:

1/ copy the CD-ROM content in a directory
2/ add zile entry in comps file (between xinetd and zlib)
3/ add the package in RedHat/RPMS/
4/ rebuild hdlist and hdlist2

But when I try it, the installation fails when the "Package
installation" begin.
I receive only this error message:
Install existed abnormally -- received signal 11

Fisrt question:
Sizes of files hdlist* is a lot smaller after my genhdlist:
Before (original CD-ROM files)
-r--r--r-- 1 valos valos 2879388 2002-06-27 22:58 hdlist
-r--r--r-- 1 valos valos 4434984 2002-05-03 00:23 hdlist2
After
-r--r--r-- 1 valos valos 463704 2002-08-09 20:37 hdlist
-r--r--r-- 1 valos valos 2348412 2002-08-09 20:37 hdlist2
Is it normal?

Second question:
I have no RedHat distribution, only a debian, so my e-smith modified is
build under debian. There is no anaconda and anaconda-runtime debian
package so I use converted packages. I have tried versions 7.0.5, 7.1.5,
7.2.7, 7.3.7 with the same result.
Is it a version problem of anaconda?

Third question:
After genhdlist, should I re-generate the package ordering with
/usr/lib/anaconda-runtime/pkgorder and after redo a second genhdlist?

PS: I make my installation over network with a floppy (bootnet.img). The
e-smith modified is accessible from an other computer with apache.

Thx in advance for your help.

Valéry
