Hi Luiz & others, I'm spanish and I use e-smith 4.1.2 (qmail + obtuseSMTPD) and I have no problem with our latin charset. Maybe the problem is the client encoding. Try using iso-8859-1 or Unicode. It's easy in Kmail and Netscape messenger, but I don't know in OutLook (dangerous client ;)).
