I notice that you are rolling a new tarball
(e-smith-qmHandle-1.0.0.tar.gz) when you roll new versions of your
package:

[charlieb@charlieb SRPMS]$ rpm -qlvp e-smith-qmHandle-1.0.0-7.src.rpm
-rw-r----- 1 root root 1801 Oct 31 01:09
e-smith-qmHandle-1.0.0.spec
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8756 Oct 31 01:21
e-smith-qmHandle-1.0.0.tar.gz
[charlieb@charlieb SRPMS]$ rpm -qlvp e-smith-qmHandle-1.0.0-4.src.rpm
-rw-r----- 1 root root 1511 Aug 24 06:51
e-smith-qmHandle-1.0.0.spec
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8253 Aug 24 06:48
e-smith-qmHandle-1.0.0.tar.gz
[charlieb@charlieb SRPMS]$

It's best to avoid having different files each claiming to be the same
version of a package. We show you here:

http://www.e-smith.org/docs/howto/howto_modify_e-smith_interface_rpm.php3

how to make incremental changes by using patches, leaving the original
tarball unchanged. We make all our minor changes this way, as do pretty
much all other vendors.

I also notice that you are building your RPMs as the "root" user. It's
best to do as little as possible as "root". You can read here:

http://www.e-smith.org/docs/howto/e-smith-interface_rpm.php3

how to set up your RPM environment to allow RPM building using a non-root
logon.
