As Noah has discovered, PDFs are back. Purely as an FYI, there were really three reasons that PDFs went away in 5.5:
1) Mitel provides only HTML and Windows Help versions for most of their other products, so we were seeking to bring our offerings in line with the other products; 2) responsibility for maintaining our documentation moved from me over to Mitel's Customer Documentation department who, while being rather excited about moving into the single-source DocBook XML-based environment I had created, did have a steep learning curve; and 3) the Windows versions (since the Customer Documentation group is all Windows-based) of the open source tools I used to create PDFs just did not produce the quality of PDFs that we could release, and we didn't have enough time in the 5.5 timeframe to figure it all out. This time around with 5.6, our Customer Documentation team is doing great with DocBook XML and we did have a brief bit of time to beat some of the tools into submission. :-) We also decided that we, ourselves, wanted to bring back the PDFs... so we did. Anyway, that's the scoop. They are back - and should be in future releases.
