I've had no problems in the past with ISO's that have been downloaded. Saying that I decided to use my local mirror (Austria) and I normally use a US or the actual site. I didn't confirm the md5sum either but will try that as soon as I have time.
As I'm the only one with the problem and it's not a general problem I will do the proper thing and get any further help from the forums.
