It supports more functions (like imagecreatetruecolor). I use it a lot to automaticly compress and resize pictures. As I use an e-smith server for the development of Web sites, I deplore that it is so difficult to have the lastest php rpms an extensions in the 'RedHat word'. The latest php versions I have found are on Troels Arvin web site http://rpms.arvin.dk/ . Work well on a 5.6 box. Here what he says about GD: > Do you plan to build GD 2.x rpm ? Yes, but it could take a while. I'll probably wait until PHP 4.3 is released: It will contain GD 2. Hopefully, that will put an end to the endless problems with using GD from PHP. -- Regards, Haj [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Please report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] (only) to discuss security issues Support for registered customers and partners to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Searchable archive at http://www.mail-archive.com/devinfo%40lists.e-smith.org
