Greg, I don't know the answer to your question (although I expect that the
POD probably contains your answer, and know that the perl code certainly
does).
Not that I can see, but it's a REALLY big pod. Probably the easiest way is to simply code a couple test scripts and try it. Seeing as SME is (was) based heavily on CGI.pm, I thought someone might know the answer off the top of their head.
Your question isn't at all e-smith/SME specific, so I'd suggest that your local (or any) perl mongers mailing list would be a better place to ask the question - there are likely more CGI.pm experts there.
Technically, you are correct. However, the end result is SME development. I didn't spell out the entire problem as it would have likely muddied the waters, IMO.
