Bruce, Thanks for this message:

Has anybody ever produced any evidence that this is not the > case? If not, for God's sake stop resurrecting the rumour. I can say that all of these comments about licensing are getting rather frustrating for Gordon, Charlie, Mike and myself. Folks, you have the entire 6.0 unsupported developer release from us. As clearly stated, the overall package is licensed under the GPL. Each individual package has its license clearly stated in the package RPM. The source code is available (actually right in the release since almost all of our stuff is done in perl!). We have gone to great lengths to ensure our compliance with all relevant licenses - and have always done so. We are all strong open source advocates with lots of solid background on these issues. (You *really* learn the GPL when you have to go over it with a whole pack of lawyers!) Instead of just suddenly shutting down e-smith.org and lists like this, we have been trying to do our best to ensure that the SME Server developer release can live on within the developer community. So please give us - and the rest of this group - a break. You have (and have had in the past) all the source code to the developer release. You have everything you need. If anyone has issues with any of our licensing, please send them to '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' so that we can track the specific issues and ensure that a timely response is provided. Otherwise, can we please just stop wasting our collective time on this thread and get on with the real issues of transitioning the release to be supported by the community?
