I think you are right, that's the right level to fix it. I'm sorry but I think I won't patch and try it myself. I wanted to fix this problem for my own Asus EEEPC 900 with Ubuntu 10.04. I decided to fix it in upower, because that seemed to be the easiest. My patch works, I'm fine, I just wanted to contribute it back in case it helps others. Thanks for the reply, -- M
