There's currently no way to do that, you'll need to add a new "UpDevice" backend type under src/linux, as I did to support batteries reported by Bluetooth LE devices through bluez. In fact, you could probably copy/paste the code, change the expected D- Bus service to look for and use the same API to show/hide your device's batteries.
