So I finally realized that I could just kill the index download and run it
again with the locally cached items. Whew! Let me tell you, snarfoo is an
arguement for date-based indices if ever I saw one. It's got quite a lot
of keys.

Anyway, the test confirmed that the new code works with the old indices.
