I don't think I misunderstood, and clearly we cannot stop people from
giving their nodereference to a friend or relative, or from obtaining
one from a web site that they trust, and in fact I think this is the
best scenario.

Anyway I think it's pretty obvious that we have to provide good ways
for people to import the initial nodereference(s) however they obtain
them.
