I just updated my Java from 1.3.x to 1.4.x. This totally broke freenet and required me to delve into configuration files to fix the problem. The problem is the path to Java is specified in FLaunch.ini and is not checked against the actual install. As I didn't have to specify this path when I first installed freenet there must be a mechanism to detect this path.
