On my old node (non-watchme) I also got a socket error on the datastore 
histogram. Everything else worked fine (no problems reinitializing the node) 
so I kept using it. This is with Sun Java 1.4.0 on Debian Linux unstable. 
What version of Kaffe are you using? Apparently the current release has 
problems with Freenet, but the CVS one works fine.

I saw on an earlier post that there is a bug in Freenet that can cause 
datastore corruption if the node is shut down at the wrong time (i.e. while 
it is starting up). I've never encountered this, though.
