I have tried to gain access to the relevant hn.org account to fix this, 
but unfortunately I can't - nobody seems to know the password and it was 
set up so-long ago that I can't even recall who *should* know the 
password.

I am afraid those on slow ISPs are just going to have to tough it out 
for a few days (add hawk to their /etc/hosts file etc) :-(
